12U Finish Season on Top

12U Travel had a big home weekend over President's Day as they participated in the Gold Medal Games.

Starting things off with a big win over Helena Bighorns from Montana. It was a close game, but Reed Lahr netted the game winner with 6 minutes left, and to cap off the 4 to 2 victory Elliot Delaney netted an empty netter.

Next up, they took on the Portland Jr Winterhawks from Oregon which turned out to be quite the game. With a quick 2 to 0 lead, the Winterhawks battled back in the 2nd period to tie things up. But Cody Conger gave the Dawgs a big goal at the end of the period to take a one goal lead going into the 3rd period. Not long after did the Winterhawks tie things up at 3, which is where the score stayed until the final buzzer.

Now 1-0-1 on the weekend, the Dawgs suited up against the Sun Valley Suns of Idaho. Another back and forth game with scoring from both sides, but the difference maker was Cody Conger. Netting the game winner, and putting up the hat trick, there was no doubt who the star of the game had to be. Final for this one, 7 to 3.

With a big win against the Suns, the Dawgs would get another go against the Winterhawks in the Championship. The Winterhawks netted the first goal of the game just minutes after the puck drop. But after that it was all Dawgs! With 4 unanswered goals, three by Elliot Delaney, the Dawgs finished with a convincing 4 to 1 win and named champions of the Gold Medal Games! Great way to cap off the season boys!
