16U Travel to Lake Placid, NY

Any true hockey fan knows the miraculous story of the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey team, and how that team came to be the greatest underdog story of all time. With an incredible 4-3 win over the Soviet Union, the US went on to win gold in the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.

Today, Lake Placid carries on the Olympic spirit by hosting tournaments for teams all over the US and Canada and giving them the opportunity to relive that nostalgic game. Our 16U Dawgs team was able to participate in this tournament this past weekend, soaking in the incredible history of Lake Placid and the Olympic village.

Hear what they had to say:

"That was the most incredible experience I have ever had when it comes to a hockey tournament. Every detail was amazing. From the opening ceremonies, to playing at the 1980 rink, it was so much fun."

"The trip to Lake Placid was the best hockey experience I've had. This place was so unique with how they have honored the 1980 Olympic team. It was unreal to get to experience it firsthand."

"No tournament will ever compete with this CanAm tournament in Lake Placid. This was next level, top notch."

"There is no place more sacred for a hockey person than Lake Placid, and to be there in person was something else. You could sense the spirit of the 1980 team still to this day."
